Carpal tunnel syndrome
Surgical treatment of compressed nerves
One of our main fields of treatment is the treatment of pathological nervous conditions and compressed nerves in the arms and legs. The nerve most frequently affected is the median nerve in the hand. This nerve is housed in the carpal tunnel of the wrist which is why the condition is called carpal tunnel syndrome. Another frequently compressed nerve is found in the elbow.
When the median nerve in the hand is squeezed (carpal tunnel syndrome), it causes numbness of the thumb, index finger, middle ringer, sometimes the ring finger and also pain at night.
