Sclerosis
Sclerosis
Sclerosis is only possible on small varicose veins on the skin and just below the skin (spider veins, reticular veins) if the trunk veins and their valves in the groin and back of the knee are still in tact.
A drug such as aethoxysclerol is injected directly into the varicose vein through a thin needle so that there is direct adhesion of the inflammatory vein walls. Afterwards a local and general compression are required (swab and stocking).
Disadvantages: New spider veins often occur around the sclerotic veins over the next few months. Sclerosis alone is not paid for by the statutory health insurance funds in Germany.
